Overview

OMNI Hotel stands proudly with its two towers in the heart of the Seaport District of Boston, Massachusetts. Hosting 1,054 fine guestrooms that include 52 suites, the hotel also features fine dining restaurants, premium full-service spa, a rooftop outdoor pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.

Each tower holds 23 stories of guest rooms and offices equipped with latest security technologies, tele-data communication devices and state of art lighting fixtures. Valuing up to 40 million USD solely for electrical construction, the project consisted of complex design coordination and construction management.

Responsibilities

State Electric Corporation was responsible for the assembly of electrical core and shell fit out; tele-data, audio visual and security; and construction management and design assist. Sai mainly worked as the assistant design coordinator along with project manager Michael Abbott from the start to end of project.

Sai’s main responsibilities included:

  • Producing Revit models for detailed construction designs of cable routings, conduits, electrical equipment and lighting fixture assemblies.

  • Coordinating the design clashes between the architects, structural and civil engineers and other MEP engineers.

  • Assisting the project management with document control, design updates and scheduling.

  • Assisting the field with Trimble points, pre-fabrication and detailed design drawings.
